Frequent Questions

What is the weather like in Milwaukee in late August/early September?

The average high on race-day is 77 degrees and the average low is 56 degrees. Since the course is right along Lake Michigan, it could be a few degrees cooler.

What will you do if it’s very hot and humid on race-day?

We will make sure there is plenty of cold drinks and medical personnel on the course, especially if it’s a hot day. There are many events of this nature held in late summer and early fall, and very few have had problems due to heat.

Will there be 2-way traffic on the trails?

Only on the Oak Leaf Trail, which is paved and 8-feet wide in most spots. Runners will be asked to stay to the right at all times while running on the Oak Leaf Trail.

What makes this event so unique?

It’s an urban trail distance race, which is not common. It also includes spectacular views of Lake Michigan throughout while passing through some of the most beautiful parks in the Milwaukee area.

What if I want to switch events after I have registered?

Email the race director at

Can you tell me more about the bag drop?

Participants in the 50k and Marathon events can place bags in the designated bag drop area right off the Oak Leaf Trail in Sheridan Park. These are for things that you might need during the race such as extra clothing, nutritional items or safety items. You can place your bag in the area any time prior to the start of your race. Note that the bag drop area is a few hundred yards away from the start line, but close to the finish line.
